Here is a fact: Most doctors especially family practitioners or general practitioners are particularly poorly equipped to deal with anxiety and panic attack issues. The doctors provide solutions that are one-dimensional and are only able to help a small proportion of patients with anxiety and panic attacks.

Even the specialist doctors struggle to provide lasting solution. Over-reliance on medications seems to rule.

Have I got anxiety disorder or panic attack or put in another way, can you relate to what I’m going to describe below?

As you saw in the video, the symptoms of anxiety and panic attack can be disabling socially and professionally.

An attack can start (usually does) totally unprovoked and in most people, the first attack can be very confusing. You wonder what the heck is happening to you. In fact, most people think they are having a heart attack when an anxiety disorder strikes. So what are the symptoms of anxiety attack?

When you have an anxiety attack, you may experience the following symptoms:

  • Your heart races
  • You can hear your heart pounding as though it’s going to pop out of your chest in a minute
  • You sweat
  • Your hands and feet go numb
  • You become confused
  • You can’t concentrate
  • You become really nervous
  • You feel dizzy
  • Some people will actually “pass out” as the anxiety symptoms become overwhelming

Once that has happened and you recover from that initial episode (and everybody does), then the seed is sown for subsequent attacks….why?

….because you become anxious and afraid it’s going to happen again in embarrassing circumstances. It is this fear of a repeat anxiety or panic attack that will provoke further attacks and a vicious circle develops.

How does anxiety disorder and panic attacks affect your life?

In the medium to long term:

  • You become worried about what the day ahead holds in store for you when you wake up in the morning.
  • You worry about going out socially because you are afraid an anxiety attack would happen in the midst of your friends and ruin everyone’s evening including yours of course.
  • You become afraid of embarrassing yourself at your work place.
  • You even become worried it would happen to you in front of your partner. Sometimes you are even afraid to start a new relationship on account of this event happening.
  • Going to places like the shopping mall, your kid’s school, your local church, your community center becomes impossible.
  • You life gets dominated by negative thoughts
  • You become an expert at hiding the illness from colleagues, friends, relatives etc
  • Your confidence begins to fade away.
  • As time goes on, you even think you are losing your mind.
  • At this point, anxiety will now take over your life. It consumes and dominates your life in its entirety. You become totally frustrated with the problem and your inability to deal with it.

So is there a viable anxiety solution or can I eliminate anxiety disorder and panic attacks from my life altogether?

Some of what I have described above may relate to you, but be reassured that anxiety disorder or panic attacks rarely ever lead to fatality. Everyone usually recovers from an acute attack of anxiety, but it is the psychological damage that lives with you and it is that damage, which ruins lives.

…but, you don’t have to live a miserable life. I have been there and I know how painful, that life of “living with anxiety” can be. There are various solutions available today. Each has its place. I’m not going to punch holes in different anxiety products because no single product works for everybody.
